So, today’s I’m gonna share with you about my school , MRSM Mersing. Before that let me brief you a bit about MRSM. MRSM is stand for
Maktab Rendah Sains Mara or Mara Junior Science College (MJSC). It is one of
boarding school and has about 43 branches in Malaysia.
I was studying in MRSM Mersing , Johor from 2012 to 2016. If
you know where MRSM Mersing is located, you will know what was my feeling when
I came there for the first time. In 2012, my family lived in Johor Bahru, Johor
and it took about two and a half hours to get to MRSM Mersing. My first
impression about MRSM Mersing was it was a scary place because this school is
surrounded by the palm oil trees and about 6Km from Bandar Mersing. Since I was never
been away from my parents and I had to go to this boarding school, I was really
really really scared. I’m also like others kid who had heard about boarding
school’s tales. You know,that scary part. So, enough with my story and
let’s get to the main point.
I’m proud to be MRSM Mersing student. Why? Because, I’d
learnt many things there. All the memories and knowledge I got from there are priceless.
In MRSM, we learnt the same thing like other school students but the learning system here is a bit different.
First, we have been introduced to the GPA
system, the one that the universities used. Each semester, we will be having
final examination and by the end of the year, our CGPA were calculated.
Second,
we have a lots of presentations for each subjects. So, we have to talk in front
the class or more challenging, in front of the whole school.
Third, we also
have been taught how to write thesis. This thesis is for the science fair which
will be done by the Form 2 and Form 4 students. The science fair will be held
during the activity week.
Lastly, we have activity week! Activity week means no
books for the whole week! It’s really fun to not be in the class and just
enjoy the activities.
